Materials and structures that limit consumption of no-renewable energy resources

Objectives

  • Contribute to the implementation of an environmental approach, by means of designing new cementitious materials or using polymer-based materials.
  • Predict the long-term behaviour of these materials.

 

Research and experimental programmes

Division research projects, conducted in the laboratory and validated in situ in the field, pertain to devising accelerated ageing methods, identifying and understanding material ageing mechanisms, with emphasis on concretes and polymers.

These missions are also intended to define a relevant set of durability and ageing indicators, to enable monitoring and evaluating the evolution in these materials.

  • Recommendations targeting material selection for a given application
